About

Who we are

This site is run by Alamogordo area residents who think residents deserve clear, sourced information about the Flock Safety ALPR deployment in our community. We are not affiliated with any political party, candidate, or campaign. We are not affiliated with the City of Alamogordo, the Alamogordo Police Department, Holloman Air Force Base, deflock.org or Flock Safety.

What this site is — and isn't

What we are

  • An information hub. Primary documents, public records, journalism, and explainers — in one place.
  • Both-sides. We link to the case for ALPRs and the case against them, and we try to be honest about what's actually known.
  • Privacy-respecting. No analytics, no cookies, no tracking, no fingerprinting. See privacy.

What we are not

  • Not an attack on the police. We link to APD's public statements. We respect the difficulty of the job.
  • Not a campaign against a person. No personal attacks on the Police Chief, the City Manager, or any Commissioner.
  • Not a vendor of a competing product. We don't sell anything.

How the site is run

The site is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The source is plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no build step, no database, no server-side code. There is no comment section, no login, and no user accounts.

Documents uploaded to the Documents page are public records or publicly available journalism. We do not publish private information about individuals (names of camera owners, personal addresses, etc.).

Contact

The fastest way to reach the people behind this site is email. For privacy and security reasons, we use a dedicated Proton Mail address rather than a personal account.

What you should know about this site

Independent — not affiliated with anyone

This site is community-run. It is not affiliated with any local government, police department, Flock Safety, deflock.org, or any advocacy organization. The contact information above reaches one person who lives in the area and is not speaking for any institution.

Still under construction

The site is missing a lot of information. Many pages are placeholders. Expect broken links, sparse sections, and rough edges. We are publishing incrementally as documents and reports come in, and as we have time to write them up.

Built with substantial AI assistance

The site's structure, code, and large parts of the prose were drafted with the help of an AI assistant. We curated the source material, made the editorial decisions, and are responsible for what is published — but the writing was not done by hand, page by page.

Lightly proof-read

The text has had at most a single pass of human review for fact-checking and tone. It has not been edited line by line. Expect awkward phrasing, repetition, possible factual errors, and missing nuance. If something here matters to you, please verify it against the linked source documents. The links are the canonical record — the prose is a guided tour.

Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice. If you have a specific legal question — for example, about a public records request or your rights in an encounter with law enforcement — please consult a licensed attorney in New Mexico.

Corrections

Information on this site is provided in good faith from public sources. We've tried to quote documents accurately and link to the originals wherever possible. If you spot an error, please email us and we'll correct it.
